Year in Review-2003: Armageddon review

Armageddon 2003 Review- OVERALL:6.5/10

1)Booker T vs Mark Henry

This was an okay opener, there were some slow parts (mainly cause of mark henry himself) but i think Booker T carried henry to a decent match. Booker won with a scissors kick. **

2)Intercontinental championship:RVD(c)vs Randy Orton

This was a very good match. It was well worked and had a pretty good pace to it,RVD did some cool spots and so did orton.This was Orton's first title win in wwe.Randy Orton won with an RKO and he won the IC title. ***1/2

3)Battle of the sexes:Chris Jericho and Christian vs Trish and Lita

Nothing much to say about this match. This was a stupid idea to put on ppv, the match itself was meh,but it was still a bad idea. Jericho and christian won, didn't see that coming lol. **

4)HBK vs Batista

This was a good match.Their matches at Backlas 08 and ONS 08 topped this, but it was still a pretty good match. Batista was in for most of this match but HBK was in for the last half.This is when Batista was somewhat of a monster and his evolution days. Shawn Michaels won. ***

5)Matt Hardy vs Maven

This wasn't a match. Batista was stiil pissed off that he lost to HBK, so hardy comes out and puts maven in the ring (where batista is) and Batista released his anger on Maven.After all that Matt comes in the ring and just pins Maven. I won't give this a rating. N/A

6)Tag Team Turmoil for the Tag Team championship


This was entertaining,i liked this.First La resistance and the team of Hurricane/Rosey came out, Hurricane and Rosey defeated La Resistance. After that, Mark Jindrak and Garrison cade came out and beat Rosey and Hurricane in only a few seconds.Lance storm and Val venus came out, Cade and Jindrak beat them too. After that the Dudley Boyz came out and finally beat cade and Jindrak.Scott steiner and test also come out, the Dudley Boyz beat them. They thought the retained the titles, but Batsiat and Ric Flair come out and beat the Dudleys and become the new Tag Team champs. **3/4

7)Woman's championship: Molly Holly(c) vs Ivory

Nothing much to say about this match. It wa okay, it lasted for only about four or five minutes.Okay for what it was. Molly retained. *1/2

8)Triple threat match for the World Heavyweight championship: Goldberg (c) vs Triple H vs Kane

This was good, a little dissapointing but still good. The pace was pretty good but slow in the middle (where triple h and kane started to fight).The best part of the match was when Triple H and Kane put Goldberg through the announcers table.A couple of other nice spots.Triple H won the championship when he pinned Goldberg. This was the night of Evolution. ***1/4

Year in Review-2003: Survivor Series Review

WWE Survivor Series 2003 OVERALL:6.75/10

1))Team Angle(Kurt Angle,Hardcore Holly,Chris Benoit,Bradshaw,& John Cena) vs Team Lesnar(Brock Lesnar,A-Train,Big Show,Nathan Jones, & Matt Morgan)

This was a good elimination match, but it was a bit too short and eliminations were faster than usual. Kurt angle and John cena were the only ones left on Team Angle when they won, team Lesnar only had Big Show left. ***

2)Woman's Championship:Molly holly(c) vs Lita

This was okay, it could've been somewhat better but this was still decent. It was also only about five minutes long. Nothing much to say here except molly retained. **

3)Ambulance match: Kane vs Shane McMahon

This was a fun match, pretty good.There were some good spots in here, the thing that took away from this match were the camera men because there were delays when they were going backstage and back to the ambulance.Kane won with a tombstone and put Shane in the ambulance. ***

4)Tag Team championship: Basham Brothers vs los Guerreros

This was a pretty good tag match, the problem was it was too short.Some good back and fourth tag action from both.This is also around the time that the guerreros split, when chavo was the heel and eddie was the face. Anyways pretty good match, but again too short. **1/2

5)Team Austin(RVD,Dudley Boyz,Booker T,& HBK) vs Team Bischoff (Randy Orton,Christian,Chris Jericho,Scott Steiner,& Mark Henry)

This was match of the night. This was a great elimination match, in fact one of the best elmination matches of all time.Only problem was fast elminations at the start of the match.If stone cold's team lost, Austin had to resign as GM of Raw. Austin's team lost when Batista interfered and batista bombed HBK, to let orton get the pinfall.Great match. ****

6)Buried Alive match: Undertaker vs Vince McMahon

This was mainly a squash match(Undertaker fought vince throughout the whole match but Vince won though).It was somewhat entertaining but not really that good.Kane interfered and put Undertaker in the deep whole, giving Vince the win. This led to a memorable feud between kane and Taker. This was also the last time we saw the american badass Undertaker. *

7) World Heavyweight Championship: Goldberg(c) vs Triple H

This was okay, nothing specail about this main event. Not as good as their match at unforgiven either.This was kinda boring in the first few minutes, it picked up in the last five or six minutes.Goldberg retained the title. **1/2

Year in Review-2003: No Mercy Review

WWE No Mercy 2003 OVERALL:6/10

1)Cruiserweight Championship:Tajiri(c) vs Rey Mysterio

This was a good match but too short. It was going along well but it had a weird ending to it, a couple of fans were distracting Rey and the fans turned out to be Akio (jimmy wang yang) and Sakoda. Tajiri won with a buzzsaw kick to the head and retained the cruiserweight title. ***

2)Chris Benoit vs A-Train

This was decent, and was also A-train's best match(which is saying alot cause he was not that good). Benoit carried A-train though, also benoit had an accident where A-train flipped benoit and he landed on his head on the chair, that looked painfull. Anyway this was decent. Benoit won with a crossface. **1/2

3)Zach Gowen vs Matt Hardy

This was also a decent match but very short, it only lasted about five minutes. This was zach gowen's last match in wwe (he was only in wwe for about five or six months). Nothing else to say about this match except that gowen won with a moonsault. *1/2

4)Basham Brothers vs APA

This was an okay tag match, it was slow at times but it kind of picked up in the last few minutes. I was expecting a little more from these guys, the basham brothers were okay and the APA was an entertaining tag team. This was still okay though. basham brothers won. **

5)I Quit match: Vince McMahon vs Stephanie McMahon

This wasn't very good, but entertaining at times. They used the steel pipe alot throughout the match. Whoever lost had to resign their jobs in wwe. Vince won when he choked stephanie with the pipe. Stephanie didn't appear in wwe for about two years, i think she did good as the Smackdown gm. ** (i was originally going to give this *3/4 but for the buildup for this match i give it two stars)

6)John Cena vs Kurt Angle

This was match of the night. Very good match, fast paced alot of the time and well worked. I think this is underrated, and the best match these two had. Kurt angle won with an ankle lock. ****

7)US Championship:Eddie Guerrero(c) vs Big Show

This was alright, nothing really special about this match. Big show dominated most of the match and won the US title. Big Show won with a chokeslam. **1/4

8)Biker Chain match for the WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar(c) vs Undertaker

This was a solid main event. This was slow in some parts but it was also good for most of it. The concept of the match was interesting, a match that we didn't get often (or not at all). Some good back and fourth action and brawling in the match. Brock lesnar got the biker chain and hit undertaker with it. Brock lesnar won and retained the wwe title. ***1/2

Year in Review-2003: Unforgiven Review

WWE Unforgiven 2003- OVERALL: 7/10

1)3 on 2 Handicap Tables match for Tag Team Championship: Dudley Boyz vs La Resistance (c) & Rob conway

This was a decent opener, and it was somewhat entertaining. It had some good table spots and this was originally supposed to be a six man tag, but spike was injured on the previous Raw. This was overall short but decent. The Dudley boyz win the tag team titles here.**1/2

2)Scott Steiner vs Test

This was...okay. Not really that good but it was pretty decent for what it was. The winner of this match had stacey Kiebler as a manager. Nothing else to say about this match except that Test won.**

3)Randy Orton vs HBK

This was a great match, this was the best match that these two ever had. This is
also an underrated match IMO. Good wrestling and counters by both HBK and Orton. This is when Randy Orton was known as the "Legend Killer" and also in his evolution days with triple h, flair and batista. But this was very good, this is a must watch if you haven't seen it! Randy orton won in the end, HBK almost won though. ****

4)Trish & Lita vs Gail kim & Molly Holly

This was okay, pretty good for a woman's match. But this could've been somewhat better considering that this is the days of Trish & lita. But anyway, nothing special about this. Trish and Lita win.*3/4

5) Last Man Standing: Kane vs Shane mcmahon

This was a really good hardcore match, and the match itself was very entertaining for what it was. Holy shit for that big jump that SHane did at the end of the match (which is how he lost, he missed the jump and went through the stage). Alot of other cool stuff in this match. Too bad this got worst feud of the year, i enjoyed it. Kane won in a brutal match.***1/4

6)Triple Threat for the Intercontinental Championship:Christian (c) vs Jericho vs Rob Van Dam

This was a good triple threat match. At the start of the match jericho and christian were attacking RVD like its a handicap match, i didn't really enjoy that really. But after it started to get better, it was well worked too. Nothing else to say about this match, Christian retained the title.***1/4

7) JR & Lawler vs Al Snow & Coach

even though this wasn't a good match, it was entertaining when JR was in the ring. Coach & SNow won when Jericho interfered. As a result, Coach and Al snow were the commentators for Raw (but only for about a week or two).*1/4

8)World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (c) vs Goldberg

This was a good main event. Pretty good back and fourth action here, it was slow at the start of the match but it picked up though. I always thought Goldberg wasn't such a bad wrestler, he was entertaining but not really that good and Triple H carried him to a pretty good match. Goldberg won with a jackhammer, ending Triple H's nine-month reign as the champ.***

Year in Review-2003: Summerslam review

Summerslam 2003- OVERALL: 6.25/10

1) Tag team championship-La resistance (c) vs Dudley Boyz

This was okay, nothing really special about this match. It only lasted about seven or eight minutes, it wasn't terrible but just okay. I don't have anything else to say about this match except la resistance retained. **

2) Undertaker vs A-train

This wasn't a very good match (probably the worst match of the night), it was uninteresting and slow. I was never a fan of A-train or most of his matches. Again nothing special about this match except that Undertaker won. *3/4

3) Shane Mcmahon vs Eric Bischoff

I don't know what to say about this match, it was not really a good match but it was fun though. Coach turned heel in this match, he hit shane in the back with a chair and starts supporting bischoff. I also liked it when stone cold came out which made the match funny. Shane O mac won with a flying elbow on the announcers table. Again the match was entertaining at best. I won't give this match a rating. N/A

4) US Championship: Eddie Guerrero (c) vs Rhyno vs Chris Benoit vs Tajiri

This was a pretty good match here, but only problem was it was too short. Good back and fourth action, and also had some good spots in it, fun to watch. Eddie guerrero retined his US title (beating the odds, i thought Benoit was going to win at first). ***

5) WWE Championship: Kurt Angle (c) vs Brock Lesnar

This was very good. This wasn't as good as their Wrestlemania match or their Ironman match from Smackdown, but it was still a very good match. It was well worked and had a good pace to it most of the time. Kurt angle won with an ankle lock to lesnar, retaining his WWE championship. ***3/4

6) Kane vs Rob Van Dam

This was a pretty good match but again like some of the matches on here, it was too short. this was also a no holds barred match, this was a good hardcore match. This is when Kane was a monster and destoryed everything in his way. But anyway this was pretty good. Kane won with a tombstone to the steel steps. **3/4

7) Elimination Chamber for the World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (c) vs Goldberg vs Shawn Michaels VS Chris Jericho vs randy Orton vs Kevin Nash

This was a good chamber match, but it had a couple things wrong with it. It was too short (it should've been about five-ten minutes longer) and the ending was weak (Triple H hits goldberg with a sludgehammer with Triple h only being in the match for only a few minutes). The match was well worked though and had some coold spots with the chamber. This was also Kevin nash's last match with wwe. Triple H won with hitting Goldberg with a sludgehammer, and won back the title. ***1/2
